Abhimanyu – The Warrior Prince
Author: Deepak M.R.

Abhimanyu
and Chakravyuha are the words that hardly any Dharmik Bhartiya may
not know! For thousands of years the maharathi Abhimanyu is inspiring us
to fight and break the Chakravyuhas of any kind. But here, we are talking about
one of the greatest heroes of Mahabharata. The author of the novel Abhimanyu-
The Warrior Prince Mr. Deepak M.R. is absolutely right when he says that there
are several great characters in Mahabharata about whom we know little or nothing.
I would like to add that stories of such characters needs to be told in such literary
forms that would attract younger generation towards our Shastras.
We know that as a maharathi, Abhimanyu was
able to defeat any warrior on the earth like his father Arjuna. But still he
was killed because he could not break the Chakravyuha, a war formation that was
specially created to trap and kill Abhimanyu. Call it a Shree Krishna neeti
or whatever, that even though knowing in advance the outcome of the Chakravyuha
He neither stop him to enter the Chakravyuha, nor allowed Arjuna to rush and
save his son!
Yes! Lord Krishna wanted to defeat
Adharma and that He knew that virtuousness of Pandvas won’t serve the purpose.
And here the art of storytelling comes
into action! The author has very meticulously crafted the character of Abhimanyu
out of the entire Mahabharata and its scores of legendary characters. The author
Deepak M.R. is successful in creating curiosity while crafting the story of Abhimanyu
along with other rousing emotions surrounding the family, war, stress, valour, cunningness,
cheating, truth etc.
I would suggest, especially to young
readers to read this book to understand the difference between Dharma
and Adharma.
